In 2018, I transitioned from my career in Accounting to Healthcare Administration. During this time, I worked in Outpatient Registration while pursuing my Medical Billing & Coding Certificate from Purdue University Global. Currently, I hold the position  at the local of President for the AAPC Kalamazoo, MI Chapter, demonstrating my active involvement in the field.

I am dedicated to upholding accuracy, professionalism, and ethical standards in all aspects of my work. I have specialized in Mental Health and ABA billing, focusing on providing comprehensive support in these areas. To further enhance my skills, I obtained the Billing Specialist Coding Specialist (BSCS) credential from the American Medical Certification Association (AMCA) and achieved the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification through AAPC.

My journey reflects a strong commitment to continuous growth and delivering high-quality healthcare services. I am passionate about my profession and strive to contribute positively to the field of healthcare administration.

DIRECTOR OF REVENUE CYCLE -
Originally, I am from Indiana and now living in Tennessee. I hold Associate Degrees in Education and Science from Ivy Tech Community College. I'm driven by ambitious goals and a passion for continuous learning and skill development. I will be continuing my education to be a certified Medical Biller this year.  As an Operations Manager, I thrive on meeting professional challenges and helping providers meet their goals. Personally, I enjoy horseback riding and look forward to returning to it in the future. 

MEDICAL BILLING SPECIALIST

In 1998, I received my Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, and spent the next 5 years teaching elementary school-anything from music, to 2nd, 3rd grade, even teaching 1st/2nd grade combined.  I realized after those years that it was really not for me, and took a job as an Administrative Assistant at Memorial Hospital of South Bend, where I spent the next 16 years.  Most of my 30 years of working have been spent in the medical field working as an Administrative Assistant in some capacity.

In 2020, I left the medical field for a short time, where I worked for JESSE as an Early Childhood Assistant.  In December of 2024, I completed the AAPC Medical Billing and Coding course and I anticipate taking the certification test this May.

I believe my heart and soul really belong in the medical field and I enjoy all aspects of it.  I am excited for this opportunity to learn more in the field of Behavioral Health and every day feels like a new challenge to me.

After more than 20 years of owning and operating a business alongside my husband, we made the decision to relocate from Indiana to Michigan in search of a slower-paced, more intentional way of life. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana University in Bloomington, and over the years, developed a keen eye for detail and a deep appreciation for exceptional customer service. These strengths naturally led me to the field of Medical Billing, where I found both purpose and fulfillment. I chose to join Genesis Medical Billing LLC because of its strong commitment to integrity, accuracy, and client relationships.

After graduating high school in 2015, I completed one year at Indiana University Kokomo. During that time, I realized I needed to explore different career paths to discover my true passion. I soon entered the medical field, beginning in hospital registration and eventually advancing to surgery scheduling.

As my family grew, I wanted a career that offered the flexibility to work from home while allowing me to spend meaningful time with my husband and children. A close friend introduced me to Genesis Medical Billing, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the opportunity. I’m proud to be part of such a supportive and knowledgeable team, where I can apply my experience while continuing to grow and learn every day.

 I bring nearly 14 years of dedicated nursing experience to my role, combining a deep passion for healthcare with a genuine commitment to helping others. Throughout my career, I have found fulfillment in supporting patients through challenging moments, celebrating their progress, and providing a steady, compassionate presence when it matters most. I value the ever-changing nature of healthcare and the opportunity each day brings to make a meaningful difference.

Outside of my professional life, I am a proud wife and mother to my energetic daughter, Avery. I enjoy staying actively involved in her activities, from swim practices to soccer games, and take great pride in watching her grow and thrive.

In my personal time, I am an avid runner, with marathon training serving as both a physical challenge and a way to recharge. Running provides me with balance, focus, and a sense of accomplishment—qualities I carry into both my personal and professional life.

As a wife and mother, I value the importance of balance and find joy in life’s simple moments—whether it’s baking sourdough, caring for our chickens, or embracing a homesteading lifestyle with my children.
